Mitsui Chemicals and Polyplastics Join Forces for Marketing of Engineering Plastic Products

Mitsui Chemicals and Polyplastics have announced a partnership to jointly manage marketing operations for advanced engineering plastic products.

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. and Polyplastics Co., Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of Daicel Corporation announced that the companies have entered into a contract regarding marketing operations for engineering plastics products, specifically ARLEN® and AURUM® brands developed and sold by Mitsui Chemicals .

Under this Contract, starting January 1, 2026, Mitsui Chemicals will consign certain marketing operations to Polyplastics. Polyplastics will exclusively handle marketing activities such as customer interface, new customer development, and technical support.

Mitsui Chemicals will continue to handle research and development, manufacturing, logistics and other such business operations for ARLEN® and AURUM®. There are no plans to change commercial distribution or related procedures.

Mitsui Chemicals aims to achieve further business growth by leveraging Polyplastics’ customer network and solution capabilities to meet the growing demand for high-performance engineering plastics in the automotive, electrical and electronics sectors.

Meanwhile, Polyplastics will enhance its ability to provide solutions to an even larger number of customers by enriching its product portfolio with the addition of marketings operations for ARLEN® and AURUM®.

Both companies will explore further opportunities to deepen their collaboration in the future. Daicel announced “Polyplastics to split under Daicel Group’s reorganization plan.” stating that Daicel is currently considering transferring Polyplastics’ engineering plastics business as of April 1, 2026. The Contract is planned to be transferred to Daicel as of April 1, 2026.
