Origin Materials and Matrix Bottling Group will supply recyclable PET bottle caps to support sustainable beverage packaging.
Origin Materials, a technology company focused on advancing sustainable materials, has announced a partnership with Matrix Bottling Group, a leading U.S. beverage bottler, to scale the production of beverages using recyclable PET caps.
Under the agreement, Matrix Bottling Group will handle bottling and capping services for PET closures manufactured by Origin, initially targeting 28 mm caps, with plans to expand into additional sizes. The collaboration aims to introduce PET-capped beverages to a diverse range of brands, from startups to global names.

Origin’s PET caps are designed to offer a lightweight, high-performance alternative to traditional polypropylene and HDPE caps. They are made using 100% post-consumer recycled material, suitable for food-grade applications, and produced through thermoforming rather than conventional molding techniques. These features also improve shelf life and enhance recyclability.
