New peroxide-curable FFKM technology meeting the industry’s need for performant, sustainable and resilient solutions
Syensqo, a global leader in advanced performance materials and chemical solutions, has introduced the market’s first peroxide-curable FFKM polymers made entirely without fluorosurfactants from the PFAs family of chemicals, using its proprietary Non-Fluorosurfactant (NFS) technology.
This new technology joins Syensqo’s growing FFKM NFS portfolio, which launched nitrile-curable FFKM grades earlier this year, specifically designed for semiconductor dry and plasma applications. These materials are the first commercial FFKM solutions made entirely without surfactants and address the seal and o-rings industry’s strong demand for a sustainable and resilient supply chain without compromising performance.
With the addition of this peroxide-curable technology, Syensqo is innovating to meet the increasingly aggressive conditions required for producing the most advanced semiconductors. The FFKM NFS solutions are suitable for both dry and wet fabrication processes, offering outstanding performance in the harshest environments, such as those with corrosive chemical contact, temperatures over 320°C and intense plasma conditions. The excellent chemical resistance of peroxide-curable FFKM NFS is also critical for many high-end energy, transportation and industrial applications. Syensqo’s Tecnoflon® FFKM NFS portfolio is manufactured in Spinetta, Italy and is the result of a multi-year research effort.
Tecnoflon® PFR X7000 and X7100 are now available for trial. The first nitrile curable grades, Tecnoflon® PFR X6055B, X6160B and X6265B, are available commercially and already in use across the semiconductor industry.
