has expanded its retread product portfolio with the introduction of the new ContiTread HDR 5, a regional retread tyre developed to deliver reliable traction, stable handling, and extended service life for fleet operations.
The ContiTread HDR 5 has been specifically designed for regional trucking applications, where vehicles frequently encounter stop-and-go traffic, sharp turns, and changing road conditions. The tyre features a five-rib tread pattern intended to provide improved control, enhanced stability, and even wear performance throughout its operating life.
Its open shoulder tread design is engineered to improve grip and traction across different road surfaces and weather environments while maintaining durability and mileage performance. According to the company, the retread is designed to help fleets maximise value from each retread cycle without compromising operational reliability.
Shaun Uys, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Truck Tire RE USA at Continental, said regional fleets require tyres capable of maintaining consistent performance under varying operating conditions. He noted that the ContiTread HDR 5 was developed to offer dependable traction, predictable handling, and long-lasting durability to support fleet efficiency and cost management.
The new retread tyre will be offered in widths of 210, 220, 230, and 240, with a tread depth of 25/32, allowing compatibility with a wide range of regional commercial vehicle applications.
Continental continues to strengthen its position in the global tyre industry through products focused on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
