The initiative empowers three Thai brands to transform recycled PET into sustainable fashion and lifestyle products while strengthening Thailand’s circular textile ecosystem.
Indorama Ventures (IVL) has launched RECO Collective 2026, continuing its efforts to advance circular fashion by helping Thai brands develop market-ready products made from recycled PET (rPET). The programme connects recycling technology, textile manufacturing and fashion design to demonstrate how post-consumer PET bottles can be transformed into commercially attractive products.
The 2026 programme supports three Thai brands in developing fashion and lifestyle collections that incorporate recycled materials. By bringing brands and designers closer to the recycled-polyester value chain, the initiative aims to increase awareness and demand for materials recovered from used PET packaging.
A central element of RECO Collective is the conversion of PET waste into recycled polyester fibre, which can then be incorporated into yarns, fabrics and finished textile products. This creates a circular pathway in which discarded PET bottles become raw material for new consumer products rather than remaining in the waste stream.
The initiative also focuses on market-driven product development. Participating brands are encouraged to consider consumer preferences, design, functionality and commercial viability alongside environmental objectives. This approach is intended to demonstrate that recycled materials can be incorporated into products that meet contemporary fashion and lifestyle requirements.
For the textile and polymer industries, the programme highlights the growing role of rPET in polyester-based products. Recycled polyester is increasingly being used in apparel, accessories and lifestyle products as brands seek to incorporate post-consumer materials and strengthen their circularity strategies.
RECO Collective also supports collaboration across the wider value chain, linking PET collection and recycling with fibre production, textile processing, design and consumer markets. Such integration can help create stronger end markets for recycled materials and encourage greater investment in recycling infrastructure.
The programme reflects Thailand’s broader efforts to develop a circular economy and sustainable manufacturing ecosystem. By supporting local brands and demonstrating commercially viable applications for recycled PET, Indorama Ventures aims to help accelerate the adoption of circular materials in the fashion and lifestyle sectors.
Through RECO Collective 2026, Indorama Ventures is reinforcing the connection between PET recycling and fashion innovation, showing how recycled polymers can move through the value chain and return to the market as higher-value products.
