The collaboration under Bisleri’s Bottles for Change initiative will promote plastic segregation, collection and recycling across SBI offices and branches.
State Bank of India (SBI) has signed a Letter of Association with Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. to promote responsible plastic waste management across its branches and offices. The partnership has been established under Bisleri’s Bottles for Change initiative, which focuses on encouraging institutions, communities and businesses to adopt better plastic disposal and recycling practices.
As part of the collaboration, Bisleri will conduct training and awareness sessions for SBI employees and housekeeping staff. The programme will focus on responsible plastic waste handling, segregation and collection, with used plastic waste from SBI offices being channelled for recycling.
The initiative is intended to make sustainable waste management a more consistent part of workplace practices. By engaging employees and support staff, the partnership aims to encourage responsible plastic disposal within SBI offices and extend awareness to homes and surrounding communities.
Bisleri’s Bottles for Change programme works with institutions, housing societies, corporates and communities to promote plastic recycling and reduce the amount of recyclable material treated as waste. The initiative supports the development of a circular economy by encouraging the segregation, collection and recycling of used plastic products.
Ravi Ranjan, Managing Director of Risk, Compliance and SARG at SBI, said the partnership would help embed sustainable practices into everyday workplace culture. He added that employee awareness could extend beyond offices and contribute to responsible environmental practices in the wider community.
Dr. Angelo George, CEO of Bisleri International, said the collaboration brings together SBI’s institutional reach and Bisleri’s experience in plastic waste management. The partnership is expected to encourage more responsible segregation, collection and recycling of used plastic.
The collaboration also aligns with India’s broader sustainability objectives, including the transition towards a circular economy and the country’s long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. It highlights the growing role of corporate partnerships in improving waste management practices and promoting resource recovery.
Through the partnership, SBI and Bisleri aim to demonstrate how coordinated awareness, collection and recycling efforts can support more sustainable plastic management across large institutional networks.
