Talbros Forms JV to Produce Recycled Devulcanised Rubber

Indian automotive components maker partners to advance sustainable rubber solutions and support circular economy initiatives

Indian automotive components manufacturer Talbros Automotive Components has entered into a joint venture agreement to produce RCB (recycled compound-based) devulcanised rubber, strengthening its focus on sustainable materials and circular economy solutions in the automotive sector. The partnership aims to develop advanced recycled rubber materials for industrial and automotive applications.

The new venture will focus on manufacturing devulcanised rubber, a material produced by processing waste rubber to restore its usability in new rubber compounds. The technology helps recover value from end-of-life rubber products and reduces dependence on virgin raw materials, supporting more sustainable rubber manufacturing practices.

Talbros’ move aligns with the automotive industry’s increasing focus on sustainable materials, waste reduction, and lower-carbon manufacturing. Recycled rubber solutions are gaining importance as vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers look for ways to incorporate circular materials into new products while maintaining performance standards.

Devulcanisation technology enables the breakdown of selected sulphur bonds in vulcanised rubber, allowing recovered rubber materials to be reused in new applications. The process offers a pathway to recycle rubber waste that traditionally has been challenging to reintegrate into high-value products.

The joint venture is expected to create opportunities for supplying sustainable rubber materials to automotive and industrial markets. By combining Talbros’ automotive component expertise with recycling technology capabilities, the partnership aims to support the development of environmentally responsible rubber solutions.

The initiative reflects a broader global shift towards circular rubber manufacturing, with companies across the tyre and automotive industries investing in technologies that improve the reuse of rubber waste and reduce environmental impact.

With sustainability becoming a key priority across mobility and manufacturing sectors, Talbros’ entry into devulcanised rubber production highlights the growing role of recycled materials in the future of automotive supply chains.
