INDIA – LEAP India Limited announced on October 26, 2026, that it has acquired the Vimprotech business for ₹102 crore (US$10.76 million) and the TIPS business for ₹40 crore (US$4.22 million), expanding its plastic packaging and logistics footprint.
The acquisitions, structured as slump sales, transfer the manufacturing and logistics operations of Vimprotech Private Limited and Total International Packaging Solutions Private Limited to LEAP India.
Vimprotech focuses on manufacturing vacuum-formed, thermoformed and injection-moulded products for sectors including automobiles, food packaging and industrial goods. TIPS operates in logistics and supply-chain support, primarily pooling returnable packing materials for automotive and other manufacturers.
Vimprotech Acquisition Adds Plastics Processing Capacity
The ₹102 crore (US$10.76 million) Vimprotech deal brings moulding infrastructure capable of producing high-volume plastic components. LEAP India previously incorporated Vimprotech as a wholly owned subsidiary on October 1, 2026, with an initial capital of ₹4.03 crore (US$425,020).
The latest transaction expands on that initial step, consolidating the subsidiary’s business operations into the parent company through the slump sale mechanism. Vacuum-formed and thermoformed packaging formats serve food, consumer durables and agricultural sectors where protective packaging is essential.
TIPS Business Targets Returnable Packaging Logistics
The ₹40 crore (US$4.22 million) acquisition of TIPS adds returnable packaging pooling capabilities to LEAP India’s portfolio. Returnable packaging systems, which involve durable containers and pallets circulating between manufacturers and suppliers, reduce reliance on single-use packaging and support circular economy principles.
For automotive and industrial clients, pooling services optimise supply chain costs by eliminating the need to purchase and manage proprietary returnable assets.
Vertical Integration Strategy Targets Packaging Value Chain
The dual acquisitions signal a vertical integration strategy for LEAP India, capturing value across both production and reverse-logistics chains. By combining plastics manufacturing with packaging pooling services, the company can offer end-to-end solutions for manufacturers requiring durable, reusable packaging formats.
The transaction reflects broader consolidation in India’s packaging sector, where companies seek scale to serve large industrial customers and meet tightening regulations on single-use plastics. LEAP India’s expanded portfolio positions it to address growing demand for sustainable packaging alternatives across automotive, food and consumer goods supply chains.
