Matahari Tire Indonesia reaches new production milestones, strengthening ZC Rubber’s manufacturing capacity and supporting growing demand across Southeast Asia and global export markets.
ZC Rubber is rapidly expanding its manufacturing footprint in Southeast Asia as its Matahari Tire Indonesia (MTI) plant continues to ramp up production in Kendal Industrial Park, Central Java. The facility has become a key pillar of the company’s global manufacturing strategy, enabling faster delivery to regional customers while strengthening export capabilities.
The Indonesian factory, built with an investment of approximately US$280 million, is ZC Rubber’s second overseas manufacturing plant. Since commencing Phase I production, the facility has achieved significant milestones, including reaching planned production capacity and accelerating output to meet growing demand for truck, bus, off-the-road, and specialty tyres.
According to the company, the plant progressed from groundbreaking to commercial production in record time and has continued expanding through additional production phases. The facility currently manufactures all-steel radial truck and bus tyres, bias tyres, off-the-road tyres, inner tubes, tracks, and carbon black, with further capacity increases planned through subsequent expansion phases.
ZC Rubber recently highlighted MTI’s progress during its first Indonesia Distributor Conference, where company executives outlined plans to strengthen localized manufacturing, introduce products tailored to Indonesia’s road conditions and climate, and deepen collaboration with regional distributors. The company also announced the formation of an Indonesia Marketing Committee to enhance market development and customer engagement.
The Indonesian facility is strategically located near abundant natural rubber resources, enabling efficient sourcing of raw materials while improving supply chain resilience. It also provides ZC Rubber with greater flexibility to serve customers across Southeast Asia and international markets more efficiently through localized production.
By accelerating production at its MTI plant, ZC Rubber is reinforcing its long-term commitment to global expansion and advanced tyre manufacturing. The investment strengthens the company’s competitiveness in the international tyre industry while supporting Indonesia’s manufacturing sector through technology, employment, and export-oriented industrial development.
