Tronix3D has announced a major expansion of its manufacturing operations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with support from Governor Josh Shapiro and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The nearly $4 million investment will significantly increase the company’s manufacturing capacity, strengthen its production capabilities and support growing demand for advanced manufacturing solutions.
As part of the expansion, Tronix3D will more than triple its existing manufacturing footprint, increasing its facility space from 3,700 square feet to 12,000 square feet. The investment will also support the installation of new equipment and expanded production capabilities, while creating 47 new jobs over the next three years.
The expanded facility is expected to enhance the company’s ability to serve customers across several rapidly developing sectors, including defence, aerospace, robotics and Physical AI. The investment comes amid growing demand for reliable and scalable domestic manufacturing capabilities, particularly within the additive manufacturing industry.
The company acknowledged the support of Governor Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger, Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor, Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, Senator Jay Costa and Representative Abigail Salisbury. Tronix3D also recognised the contributions of BusinessPA, the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance and other regional economic development partners in supporting the expansion.
According to the company, the investment represents more than an increase in manufacturing space. It is intended to strengthen American manufacturing, create new employment opportunities in Pittsburgh and build the production infrastructure required to support the next generation of advanced manufacturing applications.
With this expansion, Tronix3D aims to strengthen its position in additive manufacturing and increase its capacity to support customers developing innovative products and technologies for real-world applications.
