Giti Tire Showcases Sustainable Material Tyre Prototypes for Passenger and Commercial Vehicles

New PCR and TBR tyre prototypes incorporate renewable, recycled, and bio-based materials, advancing Giti Tire’s sustainability and circular economy goals.

Giti Tire has unveiled new passenger car radial (PCR) and truck and bus radial (TBR) tyre prototypes that significantly increase the use of sustainable materials, marking another step in the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible tyre manufacturing. The prototypes demonstrate how renewable, recycled, and bio-based raw materials can be integrated into tyre production without compromising performance.

The newly developed tyres feature a higher proportion of sustainable materials than previous generations and are part of Giti Tire’s long-term strategy to reduce dependence on fossil-based resources. The initiative supports the company’s broader sustainability objectives while addressing increasing demand for greener products in the global automotive industry.

The passenger car tyre prototype incorporates approximately 93% sustainable materials, while the commercial truck and bus tyre prototype contains around 75% sustainable materials. These materials include bio-based rubber, recycled carbon black, recycled steel, rice husk silica, plant-derived oils, and other renewable or recycled components that help reduce the tyre’s overall environmental footprint.

By replacing conventional raw materials with sustainable alternatives, Giti aims to lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with tyre production while promoting resource efficiency. The company is also exploring innovative material technologies that support circular economy principles and reduce reliance on virgin materials.

The development of these prototypes reflects growing industry efforts to improve the sustainability of tyres throughout their lifecycle. Manufacturers worldwide are investing in renewable raw materials, recycled content, and advanced production technologies to meet stricter environmental regulations and evolving customer expectations.

According to Giti Tire, the prototypes have undergone extensive engineering and testing to ensure they continue to meet demanding standards for safety, durability, rolling resistance, wet grip, and overall driving performance. The company believes sustainable materials can play a vital role in producing high-quality tyres without sacrificing reliability.

The tyre manufacturer continues to invest in research and development focused on sustainable mobility solutions. Its global R&D network is working to increase the percentage of renewable and recycled materials used in future tyre generations while enhancing fuel efficiency and reducing lifecycle emissions.

Industry experts note that sustainable tyre materials are becoming an increasingly important area of innovation as automakers and tyre manufacturers work together to reduce the environmental impact of transportation. The use of recycled carbon black, renewable fillers, bio-based oils, and recycled metals is expected to become more widespread as the industry moves toward more circular manufacturing practices.

With these latest PCR and TBR prototypes, Giti Tire reinforces its commitment to developing next-generation tyres that combine high performance with environmental responsibility, supporting the automotive industry’s transition toward more sustainable mobility and resource-efficient manufacturing.
