RMAA and PACK Act aim to establish clearer standards for recycled content, recycling claims and consumer information while supporting recycling markets and manufacturing.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) released the following statement after two key recycling bills, the Recycled Materials Attribution Act (RMAA) and the PackClaimsaging and Knowledge (PACK) Act, advanced out of the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade.
“Today’s advancement of the RMAA and PACK Act builds on growing bipartisan momentum in Congress to strengthen America’s recycling system.
These proposals would establish national definitions and standards for recycling, recycled content and recycling claims, while helping manufacturers navigate an increasingly complex patchwork of state requirements. Together, these measures would support clearer consumer information, stronger recycling markets and continued investment in recycling and manufacturing.
