Eurogrip Trailhound SCR Completes 3,000 km Test on Triumph Scrambler 400X

The adventure-focused tyre delivers improved loose-surface grip and greater confidence in wet conditions during long-distance testing.

Eurogrip’s Trailhound SCR has completed a 3,000-kilometre test on the Triumph Scrambler 400X, providing an extended assessment of the tyre’s performance across different riding conditions. The test focused on how the tyre performs compared with the motorcycle’s standard-fit rubber, particularly when riding beyond conventional paved surfaces.

During the test, the Trailhound SCR demonstrated stronger grip than the stock tyre when the surface became loose. The additional traction helped provide greater rider confidence on less predictable terrain, making the tyre better suited to riders who regularly combine road riding with light off-road use.

Wet-weather performance was another area where the tyre showed an advantage. The Trailhound SCR offered noticeably improved confidence in wet conditions, giving the Triumph Scrambler 400X a more reassuring feel when road surfaces became slippery.

The 3,000-kilometre evaluation also provides a useful indication of the tyre’s suitability for everyday adventure riding, where riders may encounter a combination of highways, urban roads, uneven surfaces and loose terrain during the same journey.

For the Triumph Scrambler 400X, which is designed to combine road-oriented riding with off-road capability, tyre selection can have a significant influence on traction and rider confidence. The Trailhound SCR’s performance during the extended test highlights its focus on providing additional grip without limiting the motorcycle’s versatility.

The results position the Eurogrip Trailhound SCR as an option for riders looking for a more adventure-oriented tyre that can handle varied road conditions while offering stronger traction when the surface becomes loose or wet.
