Battenfeld-Cincinnati invests several million euros in the future of its Vienna site

Battenfeld-cincinnati, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of extrusion lines for plastics processing, officially marked the start of the comprehensive modernization of its Vienna site on October 21.

At the ceremonial construction launch, Siegfried Köhler, Managing Director of battenfeld-cincinnati Austria, welcomed the numerous guests and personally led them through the program. The Vienna site employs around 145 people and plays a central role within the international group of companies. Since opening in 1978, Vienna has established itself as a center of expertise for counter-rotating twin-screw extruders for PVC applications (pipe, profile and sheet).

With the modernization measures now under way, battenfeld-cincinnati is systematically developing the site further. The investments are creating the conditions for modern, high-performance production while also underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to Vienna and Austria.

More modern production, more efficient processes and a new working environment

Since 2025, production has been realigned as part of a comprehensive lean transformation. A new production layout, optimized material flows, the integration of a modern machining center, and the further digitalization of production and assembly are key elements of this transformation.

At the same time, the company is investing in the modernization of the existing administration building. “We are investing several million euros in the future of our site, sending a clear signal of our commitment to Austria and to our international customers and partners. Our aim is to combine productivity, modern technologies and attractive working conditions. Above all, this development is a joint achievement by our team, to whom I would like to express my special thanks,” explains Siegfried Köhler.

The official construction launch now marks the beginning of the next phase of modernization. The projects will strengthen Vienna’s long-term position as an international production, development and service location while creating the conditions for further growth.
