Lamor delivers advanced water treatment solution to Syklo’s plastic recycling plant

Lamor has received an order to deliver an advanced water treatment system to Syklo, which is currently building Finland’s largest mechanical plastic recycling plant in Hyvinkää.

The plant will use a density-based process to separate plastic fractions. Lamor’s delivery will include a complete turnkey water treatment process solution designed to enable the uninterrupted operation of Syklo’s plastic recycling plant. The system comprises several key stages: chemical precipitation, automatic filtration, ceramic ultrafiltration, activated carbon filtration and reverse osmosis.

The system is built in two identical trains, each achieving a recycling capacity of 10 m³ per hour, significantly reducing the need for potable water. Syklo’s use of a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) process ensures that no wastewater is generated and prevents microplastics from entering surrounding waterways.

“Our modular approach makes implementation straightforward for customers, while decreasing the use of external water and wastewater discharge. Lamor’s technology is advanced by international standards and the project demonstrates how industrial processes can be made more sustainable without compromising the efficiency,” says Petri Vänskä, Global water portfolio manager at Lamor.

The order reflects growing demand for cost-efficient, sustainable water solutions in industrial applications and underscores Lamor’s commitment to innovative environmental solutions. It also marks an important step in expanding Lamor’s water technology offering toward broader industrial applications across different sectors and markets. Previously, Lamor has delivered oily water treatment technology for the oil and gas industry, containerised ultrafiltration systems for potable water production in Brazil and a reverse osmosis solutions for Norway’s aquaculture industry.

The value of the order exceeds EUR 1 million, and it has been recorded in Lamor’s order backlog for the fourth quarter of 2025. Deliveries are scheduled for the end of first quarter in 2026.
