TATMA Joins Tire Industry Project to Strengthen Sustainable Tyre Value Chain

Thailand Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association becomes the ninth affiliate member of the Tire Industry Project, reinforcing global collaboration on sustainable mobility, circularity, and responsible sourcing.

The Thailand Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (TATMA) has joined the Tire Industry Project (TIP) as its ninth affiliate member, strengthening international collaboration to advance sustainability across the global tyre value chain. The membership expands TIP’s presence in Southeast Asia, one of the world’s most important regions for natural rubber production and tyre manufacturing.

TATMA represents Thailand’s leading tyre manufacturers and works to promote the country’s tyre industry through technological advancement, quality standards, and sustainable manufacturing. By joining TIP, the association will contribute to industry-wide initiatives focused on responsible natural rubber sourcing, circular economy practices, climate action, biodiversity protection, and supply chain transparency.

The Tire Industry Project, operating under the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), brings together many of the world’s leading tyre manufacturers to develop collaborative solutions for environmental and social challenges. Its work includes improving the sustainability of natural rubber production, reducing tyre lifecycle emissions, promoting end-of-life tyre management, and supporting scientific research on tyre and road wear particles.

Thailand is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of natural rubber, making its participation particularly significant for the global tyre industry. TATMA’s membership is expected to strengthen cooperation between tyre manufacturers, rubber producers, policymakers, and other stakeholders while supporting sustainable growth across the regional rubber supply chain.

The collaboration also reflects the tyre industry’s increasing emphasis on collective action to address sustainability challenges. Through knowledge sharing, joint research, and the adoption of best practices, TIP members aim to accelerate progress toward lower-carbon manufacturing, greater material circularity, and responsible sourcing throughout the tyre value chain.

With TATMA joining as its ninth affiliate member, the Tire Industry Project further expands its global network and reinforces its commitment to building a more sustainable, resilient, and innovative tyre and rubber industry through cross-border collaboration and industry-wide partnerships.
