Jabil Expands India Manufacturing Capacity with New Pune Facility

New factory in Maharashtra more than doubles Jabil’s manufacturing footprint in India, strengthening advanced production capabilities and supporting electronics, automotive, and industrial sectors.

Jabil Inc. has expanded its manufacturing presence in India with the inauguration of a new factory in Pune, Maharashtra, significantly increasing its production capacity and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s manufacturing sector. Located in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) industrial zone, the new facility expands Jabil’s India manufacturing footprint from 500,000 square feet to 1.2 million square feet within a year. The expansion has also increased the company’s workforce from 5,000 to nearly 11,000 employees.

The new facility will strengthen Jabil’s ability to manufacture products for industries including telecommunications, AI cloud data centres, automotive, digital commerce, and industrial equipment. The investment enhances the company’s engineering, supply chain, and advanced manufacturing capabilities while supporting growing customer demand across global markets.

For the plastics and polymer industry, the expansion is expected to increase demand for high-performance engineering plastics, injection-moulded components, polymer housings, connectors, and precision plastic assemblies used in electronic devices, automotive systems, and industrial equipment. The facility will support large-scale manufacturing requiring advanced polymer materials that offer durability, thermal resistance, lightweight performance, and design flexibility.

According to Andy Priestley, Executive Vice President of Operations at Jabil, the Pune expansion reflects the company’s confidence in India’s growing role as a global manufacturing hub. The facility will bring together skilled engineering talent and advanced manufacturing capabilities to deliver high-quality products at scale while strengthening Jabil’s long-term operations in the country.

The expansion also aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the investment reinforces the state’s position as a preferred destination for advanced manufacturing, while Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted its contribution to building a stronger manufacturing ecosystem that supports innovation, industrial growth, and employment.

Jabil’s new Pune facility underscores India’s growing importance in global manufacturing and supply chains. By expanding production capacity and engineering capabilities, the company is well positioned to support future growth while creating new opportunities for suppliers of advanced polymers, precision plastics, electronics components, and manufacturing technologies.
