Mainetti has expanded its flexible packaging portfolio with M-Film solutions designed to help brands reduce virgin plastic use, increase recycled content, and adopt more circular packaging systems.
Mainetti has expanded its sustainable flexible packaging portfolio with the launch of its M-Film range, strengthening the company’s focus on materials and packaging solutions designed to support the transition toward a more circular economy.
The M-Film portfolio has been developed to address different packaging requirements while considering both material composition and end-of-life options. The range includes films with varying thicknesses and recycled-content levels, giving brands greater flexibility when selecting packaging materials.
Among the solutions in the portfolio is M-Film Air, a lightweight film designed for thinner plastic bags and available with up to 100% recycled content. The material is aimed at brands seeking to reduce their reliance on virgin plastic while maintaining the functional requirements of flexible packaging.
M-Film Land provides a premium polybag solution using organic polymers intended to enhance biodegradation, while M-Film Earth is designed for industrially compostable bags using resin-based materials derived from renewable resources.
The M-Film range also supports Mainetti’s Polyloop closed-loop recycling system. Through this approach, clear polyethylene packaging can remain within the supply chain and be processed for reuse rather than being downcycled. This gives retailers and brands an opportunity to incorporate circularity into their packaging operations.
Mainetti’s flexible packaging business serves retail and e-commerce applications, including garment shrouds, self-seal bags, display bags, e-commerce sacks and shopping bags. The company’s production network spans the Americas, Europe and Asia, with facilities carrying certifications including the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC).
The development of the M-Film portfolio comes as retailers and brands increasingly look for packaging solutions that combine product protection with lower environmental impact. By offering recycled, biodegradable and compostable material options alongside closed-loop recycling capabilities, Mainetti is seeking to give customers a broader range of pathways toward their sustainability objectives.
The company’s wider packaging strategy focuses on reducing the use of virgin plastics and keeping materials in circulation for longer. Its flexible packaging operations have continued to expand globally, including investments in Asia to meet growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
With M-Film and its associated circular packaging technologies, Mainetti is positioning material innovation as a key part of its efforts to support more responsible packaging across the retail and e-commerce sectors.
