LANXESS Unveils Advanced Rubber Innovations at India Rubber Expo 2026

LANXESS is showcasing its latest advancements in rubber chemicals and performance solutions at the 12th India Rubber Expo 2026, reinforcing its strong focus on efficiency, high performance, and sustainability in modern rubber manufacturing.

The company’s presence at the event highlights a comprehensive portfolio of specialty chemicals, processing aids, and functional additives designed to optimize production processes while minimizing environmental impact. While many of these innovations are highly relevant to the tire industry, their applications extend across a wide spectrum of rubber-based sectors, including automotive components, industrial goods, and consumer products.

A major highlight of the showcase is the introduction of Vulkanox HS Scopeblue, a more sustainable evolution of the company’s widely used TMQ antioxidant. This next-generation additive is engineered to protect rubber—particularly tires—from degradation caused by heat, oxygen, and long-term environmental exposure. By maintaining the same high-performance standards as conventional TMQ, the product ensures durability and safety without compromise. At the same time, it represents a significant advancement in reducing the environmental footprint of rubber manufacturing, making it a key step toward more sustainable production practices.

The sustainability profile of Vulkanox HS Scopeblue is driven by innovative manufacturing methods and responsible raw material sourcing. The product is manufactured using biocircular acetone and renewable energy at an ISCC PLUS-certified facility in Germany, enabling a reduction in its carbon footprint by more than 30% compared to traditional alternatives. In addition, the formulation incorporates approximately 55% sustainable raw materials, verified through a mass-balance approach, which ensures traceability and transparency across the value chain. This aligns with global sustainability targets and supports customers seeking to meet stricter environmental regulations and ESG commitments.

In parallel, the company is also presenting Vulkanox 4060, a sustainable alternative to the commonly used 6PPD antioxidant. Developed with an improved environmental profile, Vulkanox 4060 offers strong resistance to oxidative aging while addressing growing concerns around environmental impact. Both laboratory evaluations and real-world performance tests have demonstrated that the product delivers protection levels comparable to traditional 6PPD in rubber compounds as well as finished tire applications. This makes it a practical and scalable solution for manufacturers aiming to transition toward more sustainable materials without sacrificing product performance or reliability.

Beyond these flagship innovations, LANXESS is also highlighting its broader portfolio of established rubber chemicals. This includes well-known product lines such as Vulkacit accelerators, Vulkanox antioxidants, Renacit processing aids, Zinkoxyd aktiv, NaMBT 50%, Vulkanox 4005, and Benzothiazole (BT). These solutions collectively play a critical role in enhancing processing efficiency, improving mechanical properties, and extending the service life of rubber products.

Through its participation in the India Rubber Expo 2026, the company is not only demonstrating technological innovation but also underlining its commitment to supporting the rubber industry’s transition toward more sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices. By combining performance-driven chemistry with environmentally conscious production, LANXESS continues to position itself as a key partner for manufacturers navigating evolving regulatory requirements and market expectations.
